2010 in Short

Wow! So I have REALY been lax with this whole blogging thing. Well let's see. The BEginning of 2010 didn't start of so well. I lost our 5th child at 9 weeks. Not a fun experience and not something I ever want to do again. Two weeks later though, i was jetsetting to Paris, France to be a part of a Orientation tour to prepare me for what my 2011 tour with students would be like. It was a whirlwind tour of 5 days, 2 days dedicsted to traveling. It was a blast though. Cheese, nutella and Orangina. So good! After that was a pretty quick ending to our school year. Rhiannon made it through first grade, Garion promoted to 6th and Keely moved up to 8th. Ronan started pre-K this year too to help him with his speech. He is doing so much better. In June I turned 36 -on the downside to 40. But I find pleasure in knowing that Darrick is STILL two years closer than me! Garion Graduated from Webelo Scouts and is now an 11 year old scout. We were ahving to do double duty on stuff at the end there so he could get his Arrow of Light, which is the only award a scout can take from Cubs to Boy Scouts. he worked really ahrd and I am super proud of him. I am now a tenured teacher at SBHS and have been given an AP Art History class to teach. It is one of the very few taught in our district so that makes the kids feel good to know that they are pioneers - at least at our school. We also started the National Art honor Society for the art centered students to help them gain access to schools and a future they may not have been able to before. This is our first Charter year in 15 years. Really excited! Keely turned 14 this year and is now a Mia Maid in the Church. She is such a sweet girl and I am so thankful she is mine - 180 degree turn from when she was little! In December we found out that a little one would be joining us sometime in August. We are all super excited. The kids want a baby sister but Garion wants another baby brother to love on. I really am just hoping for a healthy pregnancy and baby. Looking forward to this year!

Apparently I need to update the blog since it's been almost a year since the last post! Darrick has made it through a full year in jail...hehehehe! It looks as though he will be there for awhile babysitting the kids I had in school! Which brings me to what I am doing...I am teaching at San Bernardino HS and finishing up my first full year under contract. I get to teach Art. Never thought I'd be doing that!  I also got Voluntold to advise the Colorguard/Winterguard team at the school. We always finish last but the kids are great. Most are Seniors this year so I am going to miss them.
The kids are growing fast. Ronan is fast approaching his 3rd birthday (as I approach my 35th yikes!), Rhiannon is finishing Kindergarten, Garion is finishing fourth grade and is getting ready to go to Sacramento on a school field trip. He's also finishing up his Bear cub scout stuff and moving into Webelos soon. I am one of the Den Leaders so it's kind of cool I get to make this journey with him. Keely is turning into a fine young lady. She is 12 and just entered the Young Women's program at Church, which she LOVES. She is also participating in her Winterguard program at the middle school. We were able to plan both our schools to participate in competitions the same day -it made it really nice. I have uploaded some pictures here and on FaceBook.

This is Keely and Darrick dancing together at her "Jump to Jr. High dance and BBQ.

The latest and the greatest!!!

Well it is now July and I haven't published anything on my blog for a LONG time! Just an update: Keely promoted from 5th grade to middle school on June 13th. She recieved a couple of awards. garion made Honor roll this year and perfect attendance. Rhiannon cut her hair to look like a video game character and I recieved my multiple subject teaching credential (but cn't get a job) On June 6th. We just went to Havasu for vacation, staying in our time share. I got to ride the Havasu monsoon (4 ft waves, rock!) but since I am the historian, archivist, etc of the family there is nothing to document my fun in the rain! We did have a good time and are gearing up for our four days in Laughlin at Lake Mojave in three weeks...did I mention we are River Rats??? Here are the latest and greatest pictures of my beautiful family and our adventures in...living?

Happy New Year to All!
I hope that you all have had safe and happy Holiday Season!
This has been a great vacation for us! The kids and I are off for three weeks and Darrick had a couple of four day weekends - perfect for getting things done around the house! Except nothing got done! Still one more week left...we'll see what happens. Miracles can...:)

I wanted to show off the latest pictures of the kids. Some are from a couple of months ago and some are more recent. Drop us a line!
